MARGAO: The Fatorda police have registered a case of cheating against Bhaskar Begari, an Andhra Pradesh native accused of allegedly duping a woman from Aquem, Margao, out of Rs 12 lakh under the guise of selling a flat. Currently, the whereabouts of the alleged scamster remain unknown.
According to the police, they have collected the details of the accused and sent wireless messages to Andhra Pradesh and various police stations across Goa to trace his whereabouts.
The case stems from a complex real estate transaction, where the accused is believed to have sold a flat, which had already been previously sold, to the complainant’s mother. Suresh Naik, who lodged the complaint, has accused the accused of fraudulent activities.
The incident took place on August 1, 2014, when the accused allegedly entered into an agreement with the complainant’s mother.
The family became aware of the true facts of the case, prompting them to approach the police for assistance. The case is now under investigation by PI Ditendra Naik, who has also expressed intentions to verify the facts with the office of the sub-registrar.
