MARGAO: At a meeting to discuss issues pertaining to telecom towers, chaired by the South Goa Additional Collector Srinet Kothwale, installation company Indus Towers was directed to maintain the status quo in Nuvem, where locals have objected to the location of the tower at Gorvotti.
The status quo prevents the company from making the tower operational. Kothwale added that the Nuvem dispute could be solved if the issue of rent at the alternate site is sorted out. Velim MLA Cruz Silva and Cortalim MLA Anton Vaz were also present for the meeting, and it was decided that the cell towers at Velim and Quelossim villages would be relocated to new sites identified with the panchayat’s help.
