Porvorim: The Directorate of Panchayats has appointed Suryajiv Rane as the administrator of the Penha de Franca panchayat.
Additional Director of Panchayats Rajendra Mirajker issued the order for his appointment.
Meanwhile, a meeting to elect the new sarpanch and deputy sarpanch will be held at the panchayat on January 7.
Saish Parab has been appointed as the observer for the meeting.
It may be recalled that sarpanch Safar Phadte and Deputy Sarpanch Swapnil Chodankar were voted out of office last week through a no-confidence, which was passed 6-5.
