PANJIM: Former State Advocate General Carlos Ferreira has been appointed Chairman of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Legal Department of Goa.
The appointment has been made by National Chairman of Legal, Human Rights & RTI Department of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Vivek Tankha.
AICC secretary and Goa desk in charge Dr Chellakumar while congratulating Ferreira said his appointment will give a boost to the Legal Department, as it plays a significant role in the organisation while dealing with complex administrative issues and issues of public interest.
State Congress President Girish Chodankar expressed happiness over the appointment of Ferreira and said the appointment will help the party fight illegalities of the government.
Leader of the Opposition Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar also congratulated Ferreira.
