VASCO: The Dabolim airport police on Tuesday arrested a Delhi bound Goa passengers namely Jitendra Patri (54) for possessing a live bullet in his luggage.
Dabolim airport police have disclosed that the passenger was intercepted by the security staff of the Indigo Airlines at Dabolim airport after screening a suspicious material in his luggage at around 4.30 pm. After verifying the facts, the security agencies revealed that the passenger was carrying a live bullet of 0.32 mm. He was immediately handed over to the local police attached to Dabolim airport who in turn booked an offence, under section 3 read with 25 of Arms Act.
The Dabolim airport police have disclosed that the passenger failed to produce any valid documentation for possessing the live bullet. Police suspect that he could have mistakenly possessed the live bullet since he had come down to meet his relatives and family friends who are working in military.
Police Sub-Inspector Prajit Mandrekar is investigating into the case, under the supervision of PI Shailesh Narvekar who is holding the additional charge of Dabolim airport police station.
