Allegations of harassment meted out to Goan youth employed at Mopa Airport surface

Pernem: The President of the Mopa Vimantal Panchakosi Pidit Jana Sanghathana, Uday Mahale, has written an email to several authorities, including the Chief Minister, to demand an inquiry into the alleged harassment of Goan staff employed at Manohar International Airport by officers of different companies.

Mahale alleged that the HR Head of GGIAL, Nitish Raj Victor, and the Director General Manager of RAXA, Arun Kumar, both originally from Kerala, have been continuously harassing Goan youth on duty at the airport by issuing memos and notices without valid evidence and initiating disciplinary action against them. These actions have allegedly forced Goan youths to resign from their jobs, after which the same positions are offered to non-Goans, especially from Kerala, he alleged.

Mahale has urged concerned authorities to investigate this matter and ensure that local youths are not subjected to injustice. He warned that if the harassment continues, they will act against both officers by passing a resolution in all the Mopa airport-affected Panchayats and seek justice with the help of the law.

Mahale added that many of the affected youths are security guards who are afraid to speak out openly for fear of losing their jobs or facing further harassment. He called on the government to address the issue, failing which they are ready to come on the streets and protest.
