PANJIM: In a tragic incident reported at Socorro, a rider was killed while another sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between two bikes.
According to the Porvorim Police, on the intervening night of January 14 and 15, they received a call that an accident had taken place between two bikes and two persons were seriously injured at Socorro.
A 108 ambulance was contacted and the injured persons were shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bambolim. Later, the Porvorim Police received a message from the GMCH, Bambolim, that one of the injured persons namely Rahul Khadpe (31) was brought dead while the other namely Ritesh Kambli (46) is undergoing treatment.
An FIR has been registered at the Porvorim Police Station against Ritesh for riding his bike in a rash and negligent manner.
Further investigation is in progress, the police added.
