Anthony Vaz has been elected as the Panch member of Ward No.6 following a by-election held after the seat fell vacant when former Panch Floriano Fernandes was elected to the Zilla Panchayat.
In the election, Vaz secured 132 votes, defeating his opponent Pradeep Verlekar, who received 65 votes. The by-election was conducted to fill the vacancy created after Fernandes moved to the Zilla Panchayat.

In another panchayat by-election, Lahu Kotkar emerged victorious in the Latambarsem Panchayat, defeating the candidate backed by Dr. Chandrakant Shetye.
Meanwhile, in the Bhoma-Adcona Panchayat, Independent candidate Shanu Bhomkar secured a decisive victory in the ST-reserved Ward No.3. Bhomkar won the seat by a margin of 182 votes. He is the brother of Zilla Panchayat member Sunil Bhomkar.
The results of these by-elections have drawn attention in the respective constituencies, with successful candidates now set to represent their wards in the panchayats.
