Local fishermen from Arambol met Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar to highlight the financial difficulties they are currently facing and to demand an increase in the subsidy provided to traditional fishermen. The community members explained that rising costs and operational challenges have made it increasingly difficult for them to sustain their livelihoods, and they requested stronger government support.
MLA Jit Arolkar assured the fishermen that he is committed to addressing their concerns. He said he would take up the matter with the Chief Minister and discuss possible measures to resolve the issues faced by the Arambol fishing community.
Arolkar added that the welfare of local fishermen remains a priority and promised to work towards providing meaningful assistance to the traditional fishing sector in the region.
