MARGAO: A resident of Sao Jose de Areal has threatened to sue the Salcete Block Development officer, M S Mardolkar, for compensation amounting to Rs 1 crore for alleged harassment, trauma and mental torture by allegedly delaying the execution of an order passed by the panchayat secretary for removal of goal posts from an open space in Sonu Township.
The resident, Menino Santan Fernandes, has demanded that the BDO immediately withdraw a memorandum issued to the Areal panchayat secretary stating that the panchayat cannot take up the demolition of the goal posts on grounds that the matter is sub-judice.
