PERNEM: Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party Mandrem candidate Jit Arolkar became the next giant killer by defeating sitting MLA Dayanand Sopte who was earlier termed as giant killer for defeating sitting MLA and chief minister in 2017 election.
People in Mandrem Constituency had thought that Sopte would win this time too but with very low margin, however, the victory of Arolkar was surprising for many in the constituency especially for the BJP supporters who thought that Independent candidate would divert the votes of Arolkar. Finally, Arolkar received reward for the efforts that he had put in to serve the people of Mandrem Constituency from last more than seven years.
