In a new development in the Arpora fire tragedy case, absconding accused brothers Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra have filed applications for anticipatory bail before the District Court in Rohini, Delhi. The duo, key accused linked to the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub where the deadly fire occurred, are reportedly currently hiding in Phuket, Thailand.
The Luthra brothers have been on the run since the incident, which claimed 25 lives and triggered a multi-agency investigation into alleged safety violations, illegal structures, and operational lapses at the nightclub.
Goa Police had earlier issued Look Out Circulars (LOCs) against the brothers, and multiple teams have been coordinating with central agencies to trace their movements abroad. Their anticipatory bail plea comes even as the investigation intensifies and more arrests are being made in the case.
The court is expected to hear the matter soon, while Goa Police continue efforts to bring the accused back to India to face questioning.
