Assembly condoles and congratulates on day one

PANJIM: The Goa assembly on Wednesday condoled the death of two former State Governors, six other personalities and the death of victims of Uttarakhand floods.

PANJIM: The Goa assembly on Wednesday condoled the death of two former State Governors, six other personalities and the death of victims of Uttarakhand floods.
The House paid rich tributes to former Goa Governors Khurshid Alam Khan and Romesh Bhandari. The legislators also recalled the contributions of Marathi author Madhavi Desai, classical singer Krishna Mashelkar, Marathi litterateur and playwright Shankar Narayan, Goan ace footballer Dominic Soares and Indian cinema star Pran.
Almost all the legislators spoke on the condolence motion and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved families.
The House also congratulated Anthony D’Sa for being appointed as Chief 
Secretary of Madhya Pradesh. The motion was moved by Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho who hailed D’Sa, a Goan from Divar, for being appointed to the post, the highest in the state administration. 
Godinho also congratulated Mary D’Souza Sequeira for achieving laurels in the field of sports and urged the government to honour this Goan sports star for making Goa proud.
