MARGAO: Authorities have confirmed that the operators of paragliding activities at Colva beach hold all necessary licences, including those from the Department of Tourism, to carry out the business. This clarification addresses allegations from local resident Simao Rodrigues and others, who claimed the operations were being conducted illegally and without adequate safety measures.

It was clarified that the location used for paragliding is not a densely crowded area and falls exclusively under the jurisdiction of the Department of Tourism, removing the Village Panchayat of Colva from its oversight.
Previously, Colva panchayat had raised concerns about the legality of the activities, prompting further inquiry. However, it has been verified that no additional permissions from the panchayat are required for the operations, as the site is regulated by the tourism department.
