VASCO: Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) in association with the Tourism and Art and Culture Department will organise the Baina Beach festival ‘Mormugao Plastic Free Summer festival’ from April 27 to May 3.
MMC chairperson and organising chairperson of the Baina Beach Festival Fiola Rego said the festival is being organised in keeping with tradition.
“Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar will inaugurate the festival, while Mormugao MLA and Power Minister Milind Naik and Vasco MLA and KTC Chairman Carlos Almeida will be the guests of honour and city-based industrialist Narayan Bandekar the special invitee,” said Rego.
“The programme will start at 6.30 pm every day and each day it will be inaugurated by a special dignitary. This festival is organised for recreation of the school students and also for the locals of Vasco, Mormugao and neighbouring areas,” she said. “On the last day, the council plans to conduct beach cleanliness drive in association with media persons of Vasco. I urge Vasco citizens to attend the summer beach festival 2013,” she added.
