MARGAO: Principal District and Sessions Judge B P Deshpande on Friday convicted Neves Rodrigues of Baina, Vasco, for attempting to murder one Severina D’Mello at her residence at Baina on January 30, 2014.
The prosecution case was that on January 30, 2014, Neves came to the residence of Severina and began abusing her and her mother Cecilia D’Mello and later also assaulted them and even Severina’s husband Mohit Ojha.
He also stabbed Severina. Hence, following a complaint lodged by Mohit Ojha, police booked a case under Sections 307 and 504 of Indian Penal Code.
In all 12 witnesses were examined in the case which is now fixed for argument on quantum of sentence on October 30. Banudas Gaonkar was the public prosecutor in this matter.
