Baina students, locals waiting for ‘Achhe Din’

In monsoons people face hardships due to water logging on a road used as shortcut to Vasco from Baina

Since last several years, the locals as well as hundreds of students studying at three different schools at Baina have been waiting to see “Achhe Din”. Every year, during the monsoons, all those using this road, which connects Vasco from Baina via railway foot over bridge near MPT ground, face immense hardships due to water logging.
Surprisingly last year the teachers from Mata SS and other locals had planned for a ‘Rasta Roko’. However, after few assurances from political leaders, the protest was called off and the issue forgotten. The issue has resurfaced now with the pre-monsoon showers.
The MPT chairman had confirmed to the media it has already given NOC to local administration for repair/ tarring work of the road.
Similar concerns were raised by pedestrians using the said road as shortcut to Vasco.
“We feel  the BJP government is least bothered about the hardships faced by the locals. This road is in a bad condition for the last several years. We therefore demand the state government address this issue on priority,” said Sandeep Patel, a social activist from Vasco.
