VALPOI: Former minister Bandu Dessai, who had claimed Congress ticket to contest from Valpoi, resigned as primary member from Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC).
“I have submitted my resignation to the GPCC president on February 5,” he told the media on Sunday.
He clarified that he would contest from Valpoi constituency, hinting that he may not contest as an independent, if any political party offers him the ticket. “Few political parties have approached me with offer of tickets. If I accept any party’s offer for contesting, then I may drop the idea of contesting as an Independent and I will contest on that party ticket,” said Bandu.
“The reason for resigning from the Congress party is only due to injustice done to grass-root level workers while allotting tickets,” he added.
