The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), under president Tamim Iqbal, has officially launched D3 (Domestic 3), a new franchise-based, multi-format domestic competition designed to inject excitement and colour back into the country’s cricket structure.
The tournament features six corporate-owned franchises—Walton, Acme Laboratories, ACE Blue Star, Citizens Bank, Seven Rings Cement, and Fortune Group—holding three-year agreements. Each team will compete across three formats every season: T20, first-class, and List A matches.

The action begins with the T20 tournament on December 15, 2026, followed by the first-class and one-day competitions in January and May 2027. Additionally, the BCB announced star-studded icon players for the six franchises:

- Mosaddek Hossain (Acme Laboratories)
- Mushfiqur Rahim (Seven Rings Cement)
- Nurul Hasan (ACE Blue Star)
