A migrant worker from Bihar, identified as Gaurav Kumar, died after sustaining critical injuries when a cement electric pole fell on him during installation work at Curtorim on January 23.
Kumar was rushed to Goa Medical College (GMC) for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical care. The incident has raised concerns over safety measures at work sites.

Following the incident, the Maina Curtorim police registered a case against the site supervisor for alleged negligence. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the fatal accident.
