The Mapusa Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court on Saturday extended the judicial custody of Ajay Gupta by 14 days in a case registered by Mapusa Police against GS Hospitality Goa Arpora LLP for allegedly forging documents to obtain an excise licence for the Birch by Romeo Lane establishment.
The company is jointly owned by Ajay Gupta and the Luthra brothers and is accused of submitting forged and fabricated documents to secure the liquor licence for the popular Arpora outlet.

Gupta was produced before the court after the expiry of his earlier remand, following which the magistrate granted the police request to extend his judicial custody to facilitate further investigation into the alleged forgery and related offences.
Mapusa Police said the probe is focused on establishing the role of the accused, examining the authenticity of documents submitted to the Excise Department and identifying others involved in the alleged conspiracy.
Further proceedings in the case are awaited as the investigation continues.
