Bird festival begins at Cotigao

MARGAO: The second bird festival of Goa kicked off with enthusiasm on Friday at Cotigao Wildlife sanctuary, Canacona.

MARGAO: The second bird festival of Goa kicked off with enthusiasm on Friday at Cotigao Wildlife sanctuary, Canacona. 
There was an overwhelming response this year, with around 150 delegates registering from various parts of the world. According to the organisers the figure is expected to rise. 
Delegates from United Kingdom, USA, Sri Lanka and also pan-India are participating in this festival. 
The morning began with early bird walks wherein the participants were taken for bird walks on different birding trails inside the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, with bird experts followed by festival inauguration with keynote address by Vibhu Prakash on ‘Conservation of Vultures.’ 
A photography exhibition by avid birders of Goa along with an exclusive bird stamps exhibits by Shaikh Samruddin, Philatelist was inaugurated at the hands of Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes.
