MARGAO: The Goa Forward Party (GFP) chief Vijai Sardesai on Thursday claimed that the ruling BJP and government are in panic mode due to their political, public, and economic health.
Vijai said 8 BJP MLAs are willing to quit the party.

Subsequent to political developments in Manipur, Sardesai alleged that the ruling party in Goa is jittery.
“8 MLAs leaving the Congress and going to BJP in Manipur are on the verge of being disqualified. The situation is the same and Manipur has a direct effect on Goa. In this situation in Goa, 10 Congress turncoat MLAs plus two who defected from MGP will not be able to sit in the Assembly and get a salary, which has put them in panic mode,” he said.
On ‘public health’, he said the disastrous and worsening COVID-19 handling in Goa resulting in two COVID deaths, has created public health problem too.
On Government’s economic health, the former Deputy Chief Minister charged that the government is constantly “buying” loans and has put an embargo on development till June. The economic health too has gone from bad to worse.
He alleged that the BJP has hence spread rumours of a split in a vocal opposition party to divert attention.
“Who will join a sinking ship,” Vijai asked while commenting on the rumours of his MLAs splitting.
“How much of the Rs 20 lakh crore that was announced has been received by the State BJP Government,” he asked. “Goa Government colluded with the Centre to destroy our ecology and environment bypassing projects in wildlife sanctuaries meant to only make Goa a coal and ore hub,” he alleged.
“The future is bleak for this party which has destroyed the legacy of the late Manohar Parrikar and now all they can do is spread rumours to divert attention from the health of the government,” he claimed and added that no one would want to commit political suicide at this moment.
