BJP misguiding Goans on Mhadei, mining: Sena

BICHOLIM: The State Shiv Sena has accused the Central and State BJP leaders of misguiding Goans on Mhadei and mining issues.
Addressing a press conference in Bicholim, State Shiv Sena chief Jeetesh Kamat said, “Union Minister for Environment Prakash Javadekar has cheated and misguided people of Goa on Mhadei issue and hence the statement of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant stating that everything is okay and there is no need to worry, is not fair enough. The CM should have taken a provocative stand against the Central leadership in the larger interest of Goans.”
“The Central BJP leaders during their all- party meeting held in New Delhi recently, had assured to solve the Mhadei issue on priority. However, with Javdekar’s statement it seems that the union minister is misguiding the people of Goa on the Mhadei water diversion issue,” Kamat alleged.
He slammed the Chief Minister for his remark that there will be no negative impact on Goa; hence there is no need to worry.
He accused the CM of misleading the people and added that now there is a need to worry. He added that party is ready to support the CM provided he is with the people and against the Centre to raise his voice over Mhadei issue.
On mining issue, Milind Gawas criticised BJP for its decision to form a mining corporation when Goa is reeling under financial crisis with unemployment problem impacting the mining dependents.
He warned the government against forming the mining corporation and threatened not to allow lifting e-auctioned ore unless mining restarts.
