PANJIM: Saying that he would speak to Sardinha as to whether he had really made this statement to the press today, GPCC president Subash Shirodkar maintained, “In fact, it is the existing BJP government which is responsible for the closure of mining in the State and not the Congress-led government at the Centre nor the previous Congress government in Goa.”
Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, CLP spokesman, said, “If at all he has made such a statement, it is highly unacceptable.” He added that it is odd for such a senior person, who has benefited so much from the party, to make such utterances.
