PANJIM: Taking note of spokespersons countering each other on Twitter, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday dissolved its spokespersons cell comprising six members.
It is learnt that for the last few months, the party leaders were observing one of the spokespersons taking to Twitter and often expressing his critical views on party and the government.

The recent one was when spokesperson Giriraj Pai Vernekar tweeted questioning other spokesman Savio Rodrigues over an issue of denying permission to organise Carnival celebrations by Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, at Fatorda.
Earlier, in his tweet, Rodrgiues had stated that there should be no politics at Carnival time and there should be friendship and togetherness during Carnival and at all festivals.
BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade however said that the spokespersons cell will be reconstituted as per the party’s Central leadership directive.
He denied that the dissolution of the cell had anything to do with spokespersons taking to Twitter and countering each other’s tweets.
