BJP to act against hoarders

BJP said that the government will initiate action against vegetable vendors, who are trying to create artificial shortage by hoarding vegetables in support of the anti-entry tax protests by traders from Belgaum and Kolhapur.

PANJIM: BJP said that the government will initiate action against vegetable vendors, who are trying to create artificial shortage by hoarding vegetables in support of the anti-entry tax protests by traders from Belgaum and Kolhapur. 

Addressing a press conference, BJP spokesman Subhash Phaldessai alleged that several vendors are indulging in hoarding, thus creating artificial shortage of vegetables in support of the protest.

Some vendors from Hubli, Dharwad and Belgaum who have been vending vegetables in Goa markets might create artificial shortage to benefit the traders from their native state, he alleged.

Stating that vegetables are perishable goods, Phaldessai said that vendors cannot hoard the items for long.
