The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to enroll about 5,000 new party members in the newly formed Dabolim constituency.
This decision was taken at the recently convened BJP meeting to analyze party performance in Dabolim constituency.
Former Vasco MLA Rajendra Arlekar, BJP South Goa vice president, Dabolim BJP Block President Santosh Kerkar, Pravasi Karyakarta Jayant Jadhav, Treasurer Sada Shetkar, General Secretary Nandu Satardekar and Lavu Narvekar were present at the meeting.
Explaining the membership drive programme, Arlekar urged the members to visit each and every house to achieve minimum of 5,000 memberships from Dabolim constituency.
Jayant Jadhav said that though the BJP was out of power at the Centre and State, the party was ready to play a constructive role of the opposition.
Santosh Kerkar was assigned the responsibility of membership drive, while Digambar Amonkar, Sada Shetkar and Nandu Satardekar will be his deputies.
