PONDA: Shiroda Block BJP Committee President Suraj Naik has said that the local supporters and workers strongly support Subash Shirodkar who is expected to contest by-polls from the constituency.
Naik said that Shirodkar is meeting voters and his campaign is in full swing. He is also reportedly holding regular meetings of his supporters from Congress and BJP.
“Party President Vinay Tendulkar is also guiding BJP workers to work for Shirodkar. We are hundred percent sure of BJP winning the seat,” he said.
On MGP President Deepak Dhavalikar entering the fray, Naik said, “We are not worried about Dhavalikar contesting Shiroda by-election. His entry will have no impact on BJP. Our leaders are capable of taking the right decision for victory of BJP. MGP fears that the strength of BJP would increase by two MLAs after the by-election to Shiroda and Mandrem.”
He said that after Shirodkar joined the BJP, development works in Shiroda are progressing.
“Recently hot mixing of roads and other works were sanctioned due to the effort of Shirodkar. The grievances of youth are being addressed,” Naik said and informed that a convention of BJP workers is planned at Shiroda.
Meanwhile, Shirodkar participated in the video conference programme with Prime Minister Narendra Modi that was held at Margao.
