The discovery of 59-year-old Rolla’s body brings months of frantic searching to an end, and the tragic news cast a pall of gloom over her neighbourhood in Buinsa. Rolla’s family had been searching for her all these months, while she was found very close to where she was last seen. Sources said that the post-mortem examination of her body, which was found in a highly-decomposed state, revealed that it was an accidental death as she is believed to have slipped and fallen off the bridge over the culvert. A case of unnatural death has been registered and further investigations are underway, said Cuncolim PI Tukaram Chavan.

D’Souza was reported missing by her husband Jerry in September, after she failed to return home after attending Mass at Margao. She had been seen boarding the bus in Margao, and also getting off at her stop in Cuncolim.
