MAPUSA: The body of a Dona Paula resident washed ashore at Candolim beach, on Sunday.
According to Calangute police, they received a phone call early morning on Sunday that the body of a male person has washed ashore on Candolim beach. Immediately, a team of Calangute police visited the site and took the body into their custody.
Later the family members of Gawas visited the site and identified the body.
On contacting counter parts at Panjim and other police stations, the Calangute police learnt that the body found on Candolim beach was of one Sonu Gawas (60), a resident of Dona Paula, who went missing after his boat capsized when he was fishing with two of his friends on Friday.
