MARGAO: Goa police were left baffled after burglars successfully decamped a bungalow — this time at Davorlim, after removing the window grills.
The burglars looted the bungalow of Rohidas Adpaikar an decamped with gold ornaments valued Rs 3.60 lakh.
Like in Majorda and Betalbatim earlier this week, the burglars effected entry into the bungalow by removing the window grills when the inmates were fast asleep.
The incident is believed to have occurred at around 2.30 am and came to light when the owner Rohidas Adpaikar woke up to attend to his household chores. He raised an alarm after noticing the burglars trying to feel from the house, but they managed to make good their escape under the cover of darkness. “I woke up at around 2.30 am and came down stairs after offering prayers, only to find sound of some persons trying to move out of the house. I raised an alarm, which helped to wake up my sons, but they made good their escape”, Adpaikar recalled.
The burglars are believed to have laid their hands on all the gold ornaments stored in the cupboard. The Maina Curtorim police, which rushed to the spot after receiving a complaint, is investigating the case. There’s no headway into the incident so far.
