Bus owners to seek clarification on NOC

Perplexed over the recent circular of mandatory NOC from Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) before applying for new permits, the private bus operators will meet transport department officials on Monday to clarify on the issue.
The private bus operators, who meet today at T B Cunha hall in Panjim, sounded confused after they found that the circular of obtaining NOC from KTCL was issued only to North Goa.
The operators from Margao stated that replying under RTI, Assistant Director Transport (ADT), South Goa Prakash Azavedo had said that there is no such circular from department.
While, the bus operators in North Goa have been already asked by ADT’s to sought NOC from KTCL before applying for any permits. The state transport department through a notification dated September 22, 2010 had stated that before preceding any applications for temporary and fixed permits by the respective regional transport authorities, NOC from KTCL shall be obtained.
“We are not able to understand the actual fact behind the circular. Hence we are going to meet director transport on Monday demanding clarification over the issue,” All Goa Private Bus Owners Association, general secretary Sudip Tamankar said.
