CALANGUTE: The victim – Sagar Rathod, who was stabbed in the chest by Manjunath Kadlikoppa, a resident of Canca, Mapusa during a fight that took place on January 23, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College at Bambolim on Wednesday morning.
Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi informed Herald that two were injured and one was critical in an attempt to murder that took place at Calangute over a fight that triggered between a group of friends two weeks ago. The accused, a native of Karnataka, attacked the trio with a knife.
Sagar was in a critical condition after he was stabbed in the chest while the other two were discharged after undergoing treatment at GMC.
Upon registering the offence earlier, the Calangute police had immediately arrested the accused under Section 307 Indian Penal Code (IPC) and he is currently in police custody. Following Sagar’s death, Calangute police have added Section 302 IPC of murder. Post mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family.
