Canacona: 23-Year-Old Medical Student Dies After Hitting Cow; Series of Accidents Raise Concern Over Stray Cattle Menace

In a series of road accidents reported in Canacona, a 23-year-old medical student riding a Bullet motorcycle lost his life after colliding with a cow. In two other separate incidents, one cow was killed and two others were injured, highlighting the growing threat posed by stray cattle roaming freely on the roads.

According to police sources, the fatal accident occurred when the youth’s motorcycle rammed into a cow that had suddenly wandered onto the road, causing him to lose control and sustain fatal injuries. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.

The two other mishaps, which occurred in different parts of Canacona, involved vehicles hitting stray cattle, resulting in the death of one animal and injuries to two others.

Local residents have expressed deep concern over the increasing number of stray cattle incidents, urging authorities to take urgent measures to address the menace. They pointed out that unregulated movement of cattle, particularly at night, continues to endanger motorists and animals alike.
