But a first look at the KTC bus station at Chaudi, which ferries passengers mostly from Karnataka through public transport as well as luxury coaches, gives the impression that it is just another day. Neither is there anyone to check nor to keep a track over these passengers.
The two KTC officials who were sitting in the control cabin at the KTC bus stand in Canacona when asked about what precautions they take to see that no outstation passenger comes into the State with possible COVID-19 infections, they said they don’t have any information and to ask the officials at the KTC Margao office.
About 500 metres from KTC bus stand is the KRC station, enquiries with the staff revelaed that 16 trains make a halt here.
About 200 passengers use this station on a daily basis most of them being foreigners. When the staff was asked about the precautions that they take, they said ‘ this is a minor station and doesn’t have any passenger screening facilities nor any doctors’.
