MARGAO: The farmers of Carmona attended a lengthy public meeting on Sunday evening where they discussed various difficulties they have been facing and a plan of action was put in place as to how to resolve these grievances.
The meeting, which was attended by the Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas and government officials, saw leaders of the farming community in Carmona namely Blair Rodrigues speak and address the large gathering.

An agriculture map of the village was also presented. Besides, the problems they face, a road map was also discussed as to how to improve the overall production from the fields and encourage greater cultivation and growth of the crops and plantations in Carmona.
It was also decided that specific issues of the farmers will be taken up with the government departments concerned. Carmona farmers also decided to form cluster groups to take forward a community farming initiative.
