Cash of about Rs 40,000 was stolen from the donation box of the Maruti temple at Conem-Priol on Friday night.
The temple secretary Umesh Gaude informed Ponda police that burglars broke open the temple door and decamped with the cash from the donation box.
The burglary was noticed by a shopkeeper, who later notified the police. Ponda police is investigating the case.
