MARGAO: The gram sabha of Chandor-Cavorim on Sunday has resolved to develop open spaces in the village for the benefit of the public. The Sunday gram sabha was presided by sarpanch Etelvina Antao.
Gram sabha members were informed that open space at Povatem-Cavorim has been encroached upon and that the sub-division plan file of the development in respect of the same is found missing in panchayat records. Gram sabha adopted a resolution asking sarpanch to file an FIR with the police so that those responsible are brought to book.
Gram sabha members also discussed on the use of amount of Rs 1 crore which panchayat is expecting to get under Deendayal Panchayati Raj Infrastructural Development Scheme. The Sarpanch informed villagers that the panchayat proposes to use the grant for upgradation of existing fish market, MP hall and existing panchayat library.
