CURCHOREM: Soon after the council meeting Chairperson Balkrishna (Pinty) Hodarkar said that the trade licenses of whose businesses are shut will be cancelled after inspecting them. “Many businesses under our municipal jurisdiction are shut or not running for quite a long time. So we decided to identify them particularly the old establishments as per our trade license register and cancel their trade license accordingly.” said Hodarkar and informed that council has decided not to make Health NOC mandatory any more to issue trade licenses.

Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council in its council meeting decided to outsource the maintenance and functioning of their Gymnasium situated at Carriamoddi-Curchorem through auction after obtaining approval from the Directorate of Municipal Administration.
He also informed that council will inspect the newly constructed buildings by demolishing old houses and accordingly will stop collection of tax of such houses.
Council has also taken a decision to increase the fixed salary of their temporary employees from 15 thousand to 18 thousand per month.
The decision was taken during the council meeting held on Thursday which was attended by local MLA, Power Minister Nilesh Cabral, Chief Officer Ajay Gaude and councilors.
