“We demand that the government immediately revoke the permissions for the use of government facilities for the celebration of a book about the murder of Mahatma Gandhi. We also demand that Ravindra Bhavan chairman Damodar Naik immediately apologise to the nation for agreeing to participate in the anti-national event. The misuse of position and power for anti-national activities should be immediately probed by the highest offices of the country,” said CCOG.
“The Goa Government has openly encouraged the celebration of a book about Gandhi’s murderer by allowing the use of Ravindra Bhavan for the event. The release of the book at the hands of a senior government official makes it an official State event, and reveals the anti-national position of the persons in charge of the Goa government. While our Prime Minister invokes Mahatma Gandhi on overseas trips, the Goa Government is actively helping those defaming him and his ideology of peace, truth and social justice,” it added.
