A goods carrier transporting cement got stuck on Monday after a section of the road caved in near the exit of Quinta de Valadares on the route toward Vasco. The vehicle’s wheel sank into the damaged portion of the road, leaving it immobilised and causing temporary disruption to traffic.
Witnesses said the carrier was moving slowly when the road suddenly gave way beneath it. Although no injuries were reported, the incident has raised fresh concerns about the deteriorating condition of the stretch, which locals say has been awaiting repairs for several months.

Authorities were informed immediately, and efforts are underway to pull the vehicle out and repair the damaged road section. Commuters have urged the Public Works Department to carry out urgent restoration work to prevent similar incidents in the future.
