In Ponda, burning of garbage along the roadside happens to be a regular phenomenon. Workers of the local municipality engaged in sweeping the road often indulge in such an undesirable practice which ultimately leads to pollution.
Pedestrians and travelers proceeding along the road face great inconvenience and trouble due to the smoke arising out of burning of garbage and other waste material. Visibility of vehicle riders is also likely to be affected, thereby leading to a possible mishap on the road. Let us hope that the higher officials at the Ponda Municipal Council will take a serious note of this important matter and instruct their workers to stop burning of garbage along the roadside at once. Prompt favourable action in this regard would indeed be appreciated by one and all.
