The erecting of various traffic signage boards along the Benaulim to Cavelossim MDR road seems to be a positive step towards road safety and traffic discipline. However, the signage boards at some places are erected just a few inches from the periphery of the road which now pose an immediate threat to motorists using this road which is over saturated with vehicles.
This road, which is already decorated with precarious roadside electric poles and coconut trees, is now being added with these additional signage boards alongside. These roadside obstacles have proved dangerous, especially during an overtaking manoeuvre for vehicles. Safe distance from the road has to be maintained to erect these signages. The signage boards should help in road safety and not prove otherwise.
