South Goa’s prominent touristic destination i.e. Colva has the longest beach in Goa, but at the same time probably the filthiest and disgusting creek in all of Goa.
This filth goes back a long time, to previous government’s and previous MLAs (most were in the ruling party then), who not only failed miserably to clean it, but also did nothing to address the root cause i.e. the dumping of sewage, garbage etc by various establishments particularly, the commercial ones.

Nevertheless, the fault also lies with the people of Colva for voting in illiterate, incompetent, corrupt MLAs (some repeatedly) and not holding these elected representatives accountable.
While I would like to be fair to the current MLA, who has inherited this huge mess from his predecessors, I request Venzy Viegas to address this on a war footing and if he succeeds, it will be his major accomplishment for Colva and Colvenkars.
