The summer afternoons are enchanting with the bright sunshine and blue sky above in the picturesque Salvador do Mundo. But the garbage dumps now seen at various places decimate the sheen of the village. They have become an eye sore to the visitors who visit the bundh for an evening stroll or for fresh air. It is not that the local authority in power is unaware of it, but the tendency is to wait till the problem has aggravated and then draw mileage out of it for publicity, doing nothing about it when the situation goes out of control. Incidentally, this village is in the constituency which aims at making Porvorim greener than green but how green and clean will this village become in days to come, only time will tell.
