This year too pot-holes have kept a date with the monsoon. Many of the roads look like the moon surface with craters. It must be said that Goan roads do not survive if there is a continuous downpour even for a couple of days. But what is rather interesting is that in the Port Town of Vasco speed-breakers too have developed pot-holes. One such speed-breaker which is in a pathetic state is located along the F.L. Gomes road near the Tilak Maidan. The speed-breaker which is full of craters is located just at the turn and causes inconvenience to the road users.
It is pertinent to note that this speed-breaker was put up because heavy vehicles used to speed at the turn which led to several accidents with a tanker carrying Ammonia even overturning and landing on the side. Since the speed-breaker is situated at a sharp turn an unwary two-wheeler rider could go for a toss in the darkness of the night.
This speed-breaker needs to be repaired on a war footing to prevent any accidents.
