PONDA: The Marcaim locals have urged the PWD Minister to urgently repair the pothole-ridden roads at Marcaim before Zatra Festival.
According to Namdev Naik, the Marcaim tilted headed Goddess Navdurga Zatra festival is very famous and is visited by lakhs of devotees from Goa and neigbhouring States of Karnataka and Maharashtra.
The Zatra festival has already begun but main celebration will be held from November 19, 20 and 21. However, it would be difficult to celebrate the Zatra if the roads are not repaired.
Locals are very much concerned about the worst condition of roads at Marcaim which may invite accidents and injuries as there will be rush of vehicles on three-day celebration. Locals also submitted a memorandum to the government for repairs of roads. However, so far not step have been taken by government.
