Swatantra Path in Vasco, once considered one of Goa’s most well-planned promenades, is now in a state of complete disrepair. The pavement has been dug up multiple times for various works such as pipeline installation and underground cabling. However, instead of replacing the surface with new pavers, the old, damaged ones have been reused.
Many of these pavers are broken or completely missing in several areas, causing considerable inconvenience for pedestrians, particularly children and senior citizens. Loose or uneven pavers create a constant risk of tripping and falling.
Authorities must ensure that the damaged pavers are replaced with new ones at the earliest to prevent further inconvenience and potential accidents.
