Making drains/manholes and spreading the excavated earth on the roads seems to be de rigueur (out of strictness) for all civil works being carried out in the Colva-Benaulim belt.
Besides, putting the vehicles at risk during the monsoons when the rains make the earth soft and slushy, this is also dangerous for the pedestrians who have to walk towards the middle of the road as there are no dedicated pavements for them here.

Other than haphazardly (un)planned civil works, Benaulim also faces the problem of open electrical junction boxes and ugly tangled internet wires riding piggyback on electricity poles. A long time back, there was a plan to take all electrical and internet cables underground in reinforced conduits but the scheme never seems to have taken off. I would request the authorities to set the matters right.
